Christopher Mayer began his career at the University of Maryland, where he studied finance up to the graduate level.  He received his MBA with highest honors, and soon after began a decade long career in corporate banking. Chris cut his teeth as a credit analyst for Riggs Bank, and eventually went on to serve as the vice president of corporate lending at Provident Bank - all before his 30th birthday. At Provident Bank, Chris was entrusted with a corporate portfolio of funds and deposits which totaled over a quarter of a billion dollars. Even in the volatile world of corporate lending and investing, Chris never lost money on a single deal.

While working in the corporate banking industry, Christopher Mayer began his career as a financial writer in his free time.  His talent was soon discovered by the highly respected Ludwig von Mises Institute, where Chris wrote on matters ranging from classical liberalism to the Austrian School of economics.  In early 2004, Chris began his very own newsletter, which he dubbed Capital & Crisis. Focusing on finding stocks overlooked by the mainstream, Capital & Crisis gave its readers solid picks destined to last the test of time. Originally circulated to a small group of colleagues, investors, and friends, C&C was soon discovered by prominent financial publisher Agora Financial. Within months of its inception, Capital & Crisis was bought by Agora and is currently circulated to over 24,000 readers.
